Not Always As It Appears; Never Know the Lion Until You Cross It (pt.3)

In a society like ours where law and order to the extent we enjoy them help enable our standard of living, it is easy to take the quality of them for granted. When in trouble the first people we think of calling are often law enforcement and we rarely hear of instances when they do not show up or help. We think of them as heroic, strong, brave and possessing above average moral conviction. That’s the picture we really should hope to have even though we are now well aware of the dark side of our nation’s law enforcement.

When we think of people working towards social change often the first images we get are those of movements. The movement of abolitionists bringing those under slavery in this country to freedom comes to mind. The American suffrage movement finally granting women the right to vote in 1920 is another. Movements to find important cures for diseases like AIDS are examples as well.

Once post 9/11 hysteria in the U.S. subsided Americans began to reflect on what happened that day and since. Our collective sense of national pride was renewed helping to make us stronger. We realized how precious our freedoms and liberties were. We became more vigilant over anything that threatened our way of life and culture. In the face of tragedy we pulled together.

From Folly to Madness Over Mom's Body
Bobby Meade
2010-05-15 5:30 AM
The folly of the stupidest people on earth has progressed to pure madness as they try to shake up Bobby, the Deaf Messenger of the Lord. (Eccl. 10:13) My Mom's been dead for six days. Don't they understand that bodies were buried shortly after death to prevent defilement?

By Moyote Project
You'd be forgiven for thinking that a group of zine-publishing techie squatters into rock music, baiting the State and defending the working class were part of the anarchist left. But, writes the Moyote Project, Italy's Casa Pound movement is symptomatic of the radical right's growing ability to assimilate progressive agendas into a toxic and populist political brew (image/jpeg)

On May 14, 2007 at a Defense Intelligence Agency conference the US government admitted roughly 70% of all US intelligence work was being handled by private corporations. That's right. Our nation's most secret and sensitive work placed in the hands of individuals with some background in intelligence/ black ops all for a price tag. (text/plain)

Nazi Covenant - "With Hell are We at Agreement!" 4/29

That covenant is from Isaiah 28:15, King James Version. "Woe to Samaria!", for Samaria gets rich treating intentionally-induced illnesses! (Amos 6:1) 4/23 Samaria induces heart problems via impaired respiratory systems in order to list the heart problems as cause of death.

How Much Does A Mercenary Cost?

When the Bush Administration decided for the American public that there would be no fair bidding process to ensure the best possible deal for the taxpayers in return for support services provided during the War in Iraq they signed us on for more than just what is at face value. We know the American people are on the hook to Halliburton, its subsidiaries and all its sub-contractors for billions of dollars as long as we are in Iraq. This includes whoever Halliburton chooses for hotel services, food supplies and of course their private security contractors. Since 9/11 American concerns over private security, their costs (financial and otherwise) and their role in our national security have come under scrutiny. (text/plain)

From 1995 to 2001 US government expenditures regarding intelligence contractors were roughly $20 billion a year. Following 9/11, in 2002, contracts rose to $32 billion. In 2003 they moved up again to $42 billion annually. Since then they have remained virtually the same regarding what's on the books publicly. (text/plain)

We live in a world saturated with indulgences, yet for every American there are probably things about our country we would each like to see changed. Some feel strongly the environment. Others see governmental corruption and similar issues as important. Some believe cultural values are at stake and want to help society move forward according to beliefs on the country’s future. Brewing Crisis in the South Atlantic: Oil Exploration in the Malvinas
Adam Richmond
2010-02-23 8:25 AM
For Argentineans the long simmering territorial dispute between Britain and Argentina is coming to a head, as a British oil rig travels to what analysts say is a 60 billion barrel reserve of high-grade oil located in a 200 square mile zone surrounding the Malvinas (Falkland) Islands. This would make it one of the largest oil reserves in the world. Argentina had instituted a naval embargo of the islands but has recently permitted the oil rig to land in Port Stanley, capital of the island. (text/plain)
